On December 8th, 2023 the United Nations General Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution proclaiming September, 20th as World Cleanup Day. Honoring the 2024 World Cleanup Day, the European Cave Protection Commission (ECPC) is publishing an initial report about caves and karst cleaning activities in the countries and regions of some ECPC and European Speleological Federation (FSE) members.
With this symbolic summary, the ECPC, a commission of the FSE would like to make the public aware of its strives to clean the caves. The ECPC further tries to persuade other caving friends to become aware of waste situations in caves and crevasses and step towards actions to get it out.
